Installation Procedure for the Product:

  1. Position the Product:
    Install the product as shown in the provided diagram, placing it after the particulate filter. Ensure the location allows for easy access and maintenance.

  2. Open the Bypass Circuit:
    During both installation and removal, open the "bypass" circuit to maintain uninterrupted water flow in the system. This will prevent pressure buildup and allow for a smoother process.

  3. Secure the Product:
    When loosening the union nuts (holenders) during installation or removal, hold the product steady using an open-ended wrench. This ensures that the product remains stable and does not shift or move.Loosen the union nuts on both the right and left sides while securely holding the product in place.

  4. Use Approved Seals:
    Install the product using the provided seals, which are specially designed and approved for use with potable (drinking) water. Proper sealing will prevent leaks and ensure safe operation.

By following these steps, you can ensure a smooth and secure installation of your Mineral Water Doctor (MWD) system, maintaining the integrity of your water supply and the performance of the device.

Cartridge Replacement Procedure

To ensure optimal performance, replace the cartridge every two years, even if you are using a private water source (e.g., a well) or if the water contains humic substances. Follow this procedure for products with a replaceable cartridge:

Steps for Replacing the Cartridge

  1. Stop Water Flow:

    • Shut off the water flow through the product.
    • Open the "bypass" circuit to maintain the overall water flow and avoid system pressure buildup.

  2. Remove the Product:

    • Disconnect the product from the union nuts (holenders).
    • Use an open-ended wrench to stabilize the product while loosening the union nuts on both the right and left sides.
    • Remove and discard the old seals.

  3. Open the Product:

    • Using the appropriate open-ended wrench, unscrew the disassemblable joint on the product.
    • Ensure the product is always counter-secured by holding the hexagonal section on the opposite side during this process.

  4. Replace the Cartridge:

    • Remove the used cartridge and any old seals. Refer to Diagram 2 for guidance.
    • Insert a new seal, followed by the new cartridge, and then another seal.

  5. Prepare the Threads:

    • Apply copper grease to the threads to prevent contamination inside the replacement cartridge and to facilitate smooth assembly.
    • Screw the disassemblable joint back onto the product, ensuring the product is counter-secured at the hexagonal section during tightening.

  6. Reinstall the Product:

    • Reattach the product to the system using new seals.
    • During tightening, secure the product with an open-ended wrench before tightening the union nuts on the right and left sides.

Important Notes:

  • Always use seals specifically designed and approved for contact with potable water.
  • Regularly inspect the product and replace the cartridge as required to maintain water quality and system efficiency.
  • Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for handling and disposal of the old cartridge.

By following these steps, you ensure the long-term functionality and reliability of your Mineral Water Doctor system.

Components of the Reactor

The reactor is constructed from a dielectric tube housing high-quality, pure-material electrodes. These electrodes are strategically positioned in the center of the chamber and securely anchored to maintain optimal alignment for maximum efficiency.

  1. Electrodes:

    • Made from premium-grade, pure materials to ensure superior performance and durability.
    • Precisely located within the chamber for optimal operation.

  2. Protective Housing:

    • Crafted from non-magnetic stainless steel, the housing safeguards the reactor against external damage and ensures long-term reliability.
    • Resistant to corrosion and wear, enhancing the product's lifespan even under demanding conditions.

This robust design ensures that the reactor delivers consistent performance and withstands the rigors of daily use in both residential and industrial settings.

Position / Installation of the Product

MWD-ELT products can be installed in both vertical and horizontal orientations, offering flexibility to suit the needs and configuration of your water system.

Additionally, they support bidirectional installation, allowing the unit to adapt to the flow direction required by your setup.

This versatile design ensures compatibility with a wide range of installations, providing seamless integration into various water systems while maintaining optimal performance.

Maintenance and Cleaning

We recommend cleaning the device at least once a year. After six months, it is advisable to check the weight of the product to monitor for any buildup. Cleaning the input mechanical filter is recommended twice a year; for heavily contaminated systems, more frequent cleaning may be necessary.

For cleaning, use 80°C 8% food-grade vinegar or other eco-friendly products designed to clean the electrodes of deposits other than carbonate buildup. The device must be cleaned outside the water system (it must be dismantled).

These tasks should ideally be performed by a qualified technician.

WARNING

  • During installation, ensure the connection points are clean, and verify that all joints are securely sealed.
  • Use only approved sealing materials suitable for contact with potable water.
  • Water treatment with the MWD device preserves the physical-chemical properties of the water up to a temperature of 60°C. At temperatures above 75°C, mineral sintering may occur.
  • For systems with a plate heat exchanger, maintain the boiler water temperature (primary side of the exchanger) at a maximum of 65°C at the inlet.
  • On the domestic hot water side (secondary circuit of the exchanger), ensure a temperature gradient of less than 15°C to prevent aragonite sintering on the exchanger plates.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • The device must be used exclusively for the purposes it is designed for (see the PRODUCT USE section).
  • Installation of the device must only be carried out by individuals trained in water system installations.
  • Follow safety regulations when working with pressurized water during installation.
  • Installation of the device intended for treating potable water must comply with local regulations in the respective country.
  • The device is suitable only for systems with operating parameters (pressure, flow, and temperature) that do not exceed its technical specifications.
  • The device should be installed in such a way that it is not subjected to external stress or strain caused by misaligned pipes.
  • For easier maintenance, it is recommended to install shut-off valves and bypass bridging both before and after the device.
  • When using water from wells or boreholes, it is recommended to install a mechanical filter before the device to protect against the abrasive effects of solid particles and sand.
  • When using the device with public water supply systems, a 50-micron filter at the inlet is sufficient.
  • For additional protection, we recommend installing a 50-micron filter after the device as well.

RECYCLING

This product is fully recyclable. The casing and electrodes of the reactor can be submitted to metal recycling, while the plastic parts should be submitted to plastic recycling.

The product must not be disposed of with regular household waste, in accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU.

WARRANTY CLAIMS

In case of a warranty claim, the device must be sent without any external modifications, along with the warranty card and proof of purchase.

Claims are strictly related to manufacturing defects.

The seller or distributor is not responsible for any property damage or personal injury caused by improper use of the product.

The warranty is valid for 24 months from the date of sale. If the recommended installation procedure is not followed, or if the product is used incorrectly or safety precautions are not observed, the warranty will be void.
